so the day started off with me being alkmost an hour late for work this morning. Then when I do get here we are3 short handed. No surprise there either. The day actually ran pretty smoothly. After my 30 min break I came inside an one of my managers was in the dry stock area when I was putting my things away. I had been wanting to show her my site since before I launched it. So before I put my computer up I opened it to show her the home page of my site. Then our GM walked in the back door and seen us both looking at the computer. Boy did she ever get pissed off. mShe automatically assumed we were just goofing around playing on the computer instead of working. She went slick the hell off on us both, but more so the other shift managwer than me. I called out that it was my fault because I had asked her to look at it. She wasn’t hearing anything either of us had to say. So some yelling was involved and everyone else tended to their own buisness. We picked up in buisness an the argument was closed for the time being. When my GM came to backline to get fries, I told her I didn’t know about things in the past, but that we weren’t messing with my computer. I opened it just to show her my page and that was it. I also said I know it probably looked bad the way she nseen us when she came in, but I swore we weren’t messing around. She had calmed down considerably during the little rush we had. Thats the only reason I was able to even speak with her about it. She hasn’t apologized to the other shift manager though, and she’s ready to put in her 2 wk notice. I told her I understood completley and that I can’t blame her. The GM over heard us talking which again she assumed we were talking about her. So she said walking towards the fry station if we had anything to say we could say it to her face. We both in unison said we were only talking about how everyone says she doesn’t do here job to the fullest and slacks a lot. I don’t know any of that because I haven’t been there even a year yet. But the times I have worked with her she was never lazy and always performed her job the way she was supposed to. In my opinion anyways. For some reason everyone says that she’s lazy and be slacking with her resposibilities. I can see her doing that sometimes. However it isn’t just her that does it. Everyone that works there, including me, goofs around an neglects their job if only for a little while.m It’s how we deal with stressful days and make it through them when they have been the most gruesome, attitude filled, short handed days ever. So I wrote my GM a small little letter explaing to her that I take full responsibility for Madison getting into trouble because I had asked her to look at the website I made. She said to me that she was gonna get into trouble before it happened too. It was purely innocent though. I can imagine what it looked like when our GM walked in the back door and everyone else was doin their jobs but it looked as though we were just messing around on my computer. So not the case. So I took her the letter while she was in the office ans asked her to please read it before she left or take it with her and she said she would. SDhe then apologized to everyone she snapped om an went to dairy queen an got everyone there a blizaard. I clocked out, walked out the back door to leave just as she had pulled back in her parking spot coming from DQ. I was ooh yea let me go get this shake. Lol! It ended up being a good day after all.
I have always loved expressing myself through words. I have been a bookworm since I started reading I think. So expressing myself through writing has forever been super easy for me. Now if I could just teach everyone who didn't know how, how to read, then they'd be able to read all the fascinating literature out there. I'd go crazy if I couldn't curl up to a good book on a rainy day if I wanted to. I work with the public. So I was outside a couple days ago typing away on my 2nd hand chrome book, and a nice gentleman started conversation about how long it took to charge. I said not long for an older model. He said he knew, about the older model I was working with. I proceeded to tell him I was trying my hand at writing a book. He turned out to be an avid bookworm himself. He gave me nothing but encouragement to finish the book. I like to tell myself I can do anything. But we all know how some people should just stick to their profession, well I'm gonna keep trying. I won't stop until I know without a shadow of doubt I can't succeed. Then maybe I'll put my pencil down, or in my case now, close my chrome book for good. Something tells me I won't have to just yet though.View Archive →
